Air Conditioning services
Air conditioning services cover everything from a same-week repair on a central AC that stopped cooling to a full system replacement. Most calls come down to a failed electrical part, low refrigerant from a leak, or a dirty coil that chokes airflow.
- Same-day appointments when available
- Licensed local contractors
- Written price first

A central air conditioner has two halves: the outdoor condenser with the compressor and fan, and the indoor coil above the furnace or air handler. When cooling drops off, a technician checks both halves, measures refrigerant pressures and temperatures, and tests the capacitor, contactor and motors before recommending anything.
Repair makes sense when the system is under about 12 years old and the failed part is isolated. Replacement starts to make more sense when the compressor or coil fails on an older unit, when the system still uses R-22 refrigerant, or when repair bills keep stacking up. In dry western climates, evaporative coolers are a lower-cost alternative that needs its own seasonal service.

FAQ
Air Conditioning questions
How do I know if my AC needs repair or replacement?+
Age, refrigerant type and the failed part decide it. A newer system with a bad capacitor or fan motor is a repair. An older R-22 system with a failed compressor or leaking coil is usually a replacement.
Why is my AC running but not cooling?+
Common causes are a dirty filter or coil, low refrigerant from a leak, a failed outdoor fan or capacitor, or a frozen indoor coil. Turn the system off if you see ice and call for a diagnosis.
How long does a central air conditioner last?+
Most last 10 to 15 years. Hot climates, coastal salt air and skipped maintenance push that toward the low end.
