Heating services
Heating services cover gas and electric furnaces, hot-water boilers, radiant floors and the safety checks that keep combustion appliances from leaking carbon monoxide. Most no-heat calls are an igniter, flame sensor, pressure switch or blower problem.

A gas furnace lights in a set order: the inducer fan starts, the pressure switch proves venting, the igniter heats, the gas valve opens and the flame sensor confirms flame. A failure at any step locks the furnace out, which is why a technician reads the control board's fault code before replacing parts.
Boilers heat water or make steam for radiators, baseboards or in-floor tubing, and they need different skills than forced-air systems. Any fuel-burning heater should have a working carbon monoxide alarm nearby, and a cracked heat exchanger is a reason to shut the system down until it is fixed or replaced.

FAQ
Heating questions
What should I do if my carbon monoxide alarm goes off?+
Get everyone outside to fresh air and call 911 or your gas utility's emergency line. Do not go back in until responders say it is safe, then have the heating system inspected.
Why does my furnace turn on and then shut off?+
A dirty flame sensor, a blocked vent or intake, a clogged filter or an overheating heat exchanger are common causes. The control board's blink code helps a tech narrow it down.
How long does a gas furnace last?+
Typically 15 to 20 years with annual maintenance.
